Greece is the Word

Heading out today for a trip to Greece. We booked the trip through http://www.tripmasters.com and have to say, so far the app and ease of use has been incomparable.

Air Canada, Oh Where is our Agent

We got to Nashville Airport this morning at 4 AM, a mere 2 hours before our 6 AM departure and no Air Canada ticket agent in site. For the next hour and 45 minutes, we saw some ANGRY travelers trying to get answers. Finally, we were told that the agent had decided to “sleep in” this morning!? Sure enough, a disheveled, sleepy-eyed fellow wandered non-chalantly into the terminal about 15 minutes before our scheduled departure time. If that had been me, I would have done one of two things: A. Turned off my alarm (assuming that I had set it to begin with and overslept stranding 75 passengers), rolled over and gone back to bed…and opening the Want Ads a few hours later for an afternoon job or B. Came sprinting into the terminal like the Lone Ranger in hot pursuit of an outlaw with 4 dozen Krispy Kreme’s in my arms. I’d have hollered out, sorry I’m late, I was standing in line for the “Hot Doughnuts Now” sign to light up for you guys. Nevertheless, Air Canada backed our flight up 45 minutes and we all made it onboard and progressed to Toronto.

Montreal Airport

From Toronto, we caught a connecting flight to Montreal where we have a 4 hour layover until our flight to Athens. I’ve never been to Montreal, but should you have a 4 hour layover, I can’t imagine a better airport. They have a huge duty-free shopping area called “The Loop” with every kind of alcohol, women’s perfumes, lingerie and other souvenirs that you can imagine. Also, the food is fantastic and there are bars and restaurants galore. And the security wait lines are similar to O’Hare except with very short lines and coming out right at your gate.

Getting ready for the long flight to Athens. We take off at 4:20 PM and land at 8:30 AM tomorrow morning. I hope they have some good movies!
